Welcome to St Michael's Church, Flixton

We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that.

Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the oldest parishes of Manchester Diocese.

Today, the church of St Michael's continues to be a haven of stability with a refreshingly optimistic outlook and a passion for worship, mission and learning.

Our weekly pattern of worship includes the celebration of Holy Communion, Choral Evensong and worship for tiny tots. Do come and join us at any of our services.

We pray that at this time, and in this place, we can be as a light set upon a hill for the benefit of the wider community, and for the glory and praise of God. We hope you will be able to join us.

Our mission is very simple: Love God, Share faith, Serve all. And here’s to another 900 years!

Forthcoming events

The nights are drawing in and here at St Michael's we've got a busy autumn, we're getting ready to celebrate our patronal festival - Michaelmas, preparing for our harvest festival and looking ahead to the season of remembrance.

The schools have gone back after their summer break and It's not just the children who've gone back to thinking. Friday Night Theology came back for another year of reflection and questioning - it started off on the 26th September with God as Trinity (see the Friday Night Theology page for more information on upcoming events).  We've also got an Emmaus course starting on the 1st October for 8 weeks, again see the page for more information about what Emmaus is.

Visit the Diary page for a full list of events coming up this month, and take a look at our special events section to find details of upcoming events.
