We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that.
Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the oldest parishes of Manchester Diocese.
Our weekly pattern of worship includes the celebration of Holy Communion, Choral Evensong and worship for tiny tots. Do come and join us at any of our services.
We pray that at this time, and in this place, we can be as a light set upon a hill for the benefit of the wider community, and for the glory and praise of God. We hope you will be able to join us.
Our mission is very simple: Love God, Share faith, Serve all. And here’s to another 900 years!
Thank you so much to everyone who supported the Folk Festival - we had a great time and hope you did too.
August can be a quiet time in the life of St Michael's, the Schools are out and lots of people are on holiday. Service still continue as usual and Church can often be a place of peace and quiet if life at home is a little hectic (it's often relatively cool too!).
We have lots to look forward to in September, we're running a Heritage Open day on the 13th September. This is part of the Heritage Open days national partnership and is supported by English Heritage - we're one of thousands of events across England. We're opening up the church doors (and parish registers!) between 10-4 to give you a taste of the 900 year history of the Church and graveyard. Find out more on our heritage page
Visit the Diary page for a full list of events coming up this month, and take a look at our special events section to find details of upcoming events.
