Welcome to St Michael's Church, Flixton. We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that. Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the ancient parishes of Manchester Diocese.

Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.'
We have recently been accredited as a 'Child Friendly Church' by the Diocese of Manchester. This means we work hard to make sure that children and young people are equal members of our church family, and we take care to provide a welcoming and inclusive church for all ages.
There are lots of opportunities for children to worship with us at St Michael's, from dedicated toddler services, to full eucharist services.
Peewits is our pre-school worship. Held on a Wednesday morning at 9.30 in Church Croft. Peewits is infant worship with prayers, action songs, and colourful Bible stories perfect for toddlers. It is a fun way to introduce children to worship here at St Michael's and the service is still held dear by children who have outgrown it.
This is a very popular and relaxed service.
On the first Sunday of every month we hold a 4pm non-eucharist service in church. Family Praise is a liturgy of the word service, led by families and children of St Michael's.
Each service lasts about 30 minutes and is a lovely welcome to our beautiful church.
Sunday School at St. Michael's is a vibrant and thriving part of the church. There are three age groups; infants (age 3-5 years), juniors (6-10 years) and seniors (11 years upwards).
Sunday School is on every Sunday during term time from 10am-11am. At 11am the children rejoin the congregation in church, and describe their morning’s activities.
The children from Sunday School lead regular services throughout the year, including Christingle and Mothering Sunday.
All Sunday School teachers have a full enhanced DBS disclosure.
