Welcome to St Michael's Church, Flixton. We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that. Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the ancient parishes of Manchester Diocese.
Saint Michael's Church, Flixton
348 Church Road
Throughout the Churchís year there are a number of special seasonal services. We celebrate the cycle of the Saints, during lent and advent there is candle-lit compline, and we regularly give thanks for the ministry of wholeness and healing.
We keep a full Holy Week, with services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Day. Equally at Christmas we have many carol services and one of the highlights is our Christingle service which is extremely popular with young and old alike!
The ministry of the church encompasses our beginnings and our endings, from birth to death. At some point in our lives we will all face the loss of someone we love, and of course, our own death too.
At St Michael's we strive to support the recently bereaved through the ministry of funerals whether here at St Michael's or at a local Crematorium.
We aim to assist people during this very difficult time in their lives, through sensitive pastoral care and by helping them plan the funeral service of a loved one and through this service we seek to affirm the Christian hope of resurrection.
Once a year, in November, we hold a service of remembrance for the departed.
Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life John 11.25
