Welcome to St Michael's Church, Flixton. We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that. Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the ancient parishes of Manchester Diocese.

Education and Nurture:
St Michael’s is an active learning community. We enjoy exploring our faith together and connecting it to our daily living. There is hopefully an opportunity for everyone to engage in Christian learning in some way and grow in their faith and discipleship. Throughout the year we run the Emmaus Course for both enquirers and those who want to learn more about the Christian faith, and those who want to explore their faith more deeply. During Lent and Advent we run more focused bible study groups or Lent Courses. We also have a vocations group which aims helps people connect their faith to their daily lives and support them in Christian ministry and service.
We have very close links to St Michael’s (VA) Church of England School. We also have good links with other schools and education establishments in the parish and we are always happy to welcome school visits to church to support national curriculum objectives.
Please contact us if you would like to arrange a visit to church or if you would like one of the clergy to come and visit you.
We have used the Emmaus course for a number of years at St Michael's to explore Christianity. It is a gentle introduction to the Christian faith and can form the basis for adult confirmation.
The course lasts for 15 very friendly weeks, with tea, coffee and biscuits, and nothing too complicated.
No questions are off limits, and there are no right or wrong answers. It is a safe environment to explore the Christian faith, find out more about church life, and ask the questions you've always wanted answered.
In 2014, St Michael's started running the Pilgrim course as part of our 'Year of Prayer'. The Pilgrim course is a new teaching course for adults wishing to explore or grow in faith.
Details of forthcoming sessions will be put on the website as soon as they're available
