Lent & Easter at St Michael's

The season of Lent is the 6 weeks leading up to Easter Sunday.  During this season we prepare ourselves for the Easter miracle through Prayer and Meditation. 

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? Isaiah 43:19

Holy Week 2018

Holy Week is the last week of Lent, starting on Palm Sunday leading up to Easter Sunday. A very special week in the life of the Church, this year we extend an invitation to join Bishop Mark Davies, along with the congregations of St John's Flixton and St Michael Flixton, to make Holy Week 2018 a week to remember.

Sunday 25th March
10:15 Palm Sunday Eucharish, St Michael's
10:30 Holy Communion, St John's. Preacher: Bishop Mark Davies
18:30 A service of prayer and dedication, St Michael's, with Bishop Mark

Monday 26th March
18:30 Share a meal together and 'meet the Bishop' at the Roebuck Inn (upstairs room). Open to all adults. Join us as you order a meal from the bar from 18:30 and around 20:00 we hear from Bishop Mark. If you can't make the meal, come and join in around 20:00.

Tuesday 27th March
19:30 A service of Wholeness and Healing at St Michael's, with Bishop Mark and members of St Michael's and St John's congregations.

Wednesday 28th March
14:00 A Bible Study for Holy Week at St John's, with Bishop Mark.

Maundy Thursday 29th March
10:15 Maundy Thursday liturgy and foot washing at St Michael's.
19:00 A Christian celebration of Passover at St John's (NB This includes a bring-and-share' meal; you need to sign up in advance to take part)

Good Friday 30th March
10:15 Family worship for Good Friday, St Michael's.
13:00 Gathering at St John's, followed by a walk of witness to St Michael's, via The Ark and outside Flixton House
14:00 An Hour at the Cross, St Michael's
19:30 'God Friday' - an audio visual Good Friday meditation, St John's
