Welcome to St Michael's Church, Flixton. We believe that worship is our primary purpose before God, and all else in our Christian life should flow from that. Christians have worshipped on this site for at least 900 years making this one of the ancient parishes of Manchester Diocese.

We love doing baptisms here at St Michael's!
The baptism or 'christening' of a child or an adult, is a great occasion for the whole church family as it marks the beginning of the Christian journey of faith. Baptisms usually take place at 12pm on the first and third Sunday of each month.
If you would like to arrange a baptism for your child - or yourself - just call in to the weekly office hour on Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm in church. No need to book in advance or get in touch via the contact page.
We will give you advice on how to choose your Godparents, and we ask that parents and Godparents come to a baptism preparation session in church to explore the commitment and promises you are making.
You'll also find useful information on the Church of England website if you are thinking about a baptism in church.
Every year we invite all children who have been recently baptised, back to church for a baptism celebration service.
If you decide that baptism isn't right for you and your family, but you would like to give thanks to God for the gift of a child and then we offer a Service of Thanksgiving.
This service provides an opportunity for parents and families to give thanks for the gift of a child, receive God's blessing and to pray for family life.
